About Us - Our Story
Take one fully ripened corporate finance lawyer (though don‘t go for one of those overly sized ones...they tend to have less flavour and are unsavoury to the pallet), peel carefully and dice finely. Peel and chop one ex-language school marketing manager, mix roughly with the chopped lawyer and allow to marinate for a couple of years. Lightly fry in a glug of food inspired passion, simmer for twenty minutes in half a bottle of good old-fashioned service and serve with lashings of locally produced vegetables.
Crumbs of Sussex, the official name given to the above dish, first opened its doors for business in a glorified garden shed on the car park of Shoots Garden Centre, Washington, West Sussex. With barely enough room to swing a locally grown cucumber, the proprietors, James Meldrum and Simon Croft decided to open a bigger shop on the same site towards the end of last year with a vastly expanded product range.
It is, they say, from humble acorns, that the mighty oak doth grow...though Crumbs is, of course, still only a little sapling!
