LFT Principles

Crumbs will:

• source products locally (wherever and whenever possible, having regard at all times to quality, availability, cost and accessibility);
• seek to develop long term relationships with its suppliers;
• sell products with the LFT mark at an appropriate price point having regard to competitive products and the need for an appropriate return for the producer/farmer;
• demarcate all LFT products with the LFT logo at the point of sale; and
• pay the farmer/producer a price which covers the true cost of production ("the LFT Production Cost") together with a premium over and above that, amounting to no less than 5% of the LFT Production Cost.

In turn Crumbs requires suppliers to:

• pay their workers no less than the minimum wage;
• comply with all relevant health and safety policies;
• treat all employees with dignity and respect and provide a working environment consistent with these values; and
• carry out farming practices, where applicable, which are environmentally sustainable.
